The resort of Las Americas is only 10 minutes from our villa in Tenerife. It is much bigger and more lively than its neighbour, Los Cristianos. It offers a wide range of entertainment with its many bars and night clubs.
A promenade runs along the full length of the beach and continues on to Puerto Colon. This is popular with walkers and has a number of bars and restaurants. The wide sandy beach is very popular with tourists and locals.
The streets of Las Americas come alive at night and there is no shortage of places to eat and drink. The streets are particularly well adorned with festive lights and decorations for the Christmas period which is always the most popular Tenerife holiday session.
There are three main nightlife areas that are very popular with younger visitors to the island. These are Veronicas, Starco Commercial Centre and the patch.
Las Americas is also a prime area for shoppers. There are a number of new malls that offer up-market and designer goods and a vast array of individual shops selling electronic goods, clothing and jewellery, it's all here.
